About the Eurasian Eagle-Owl
The Eurasian eagle-owl is one of the largest owls in the world, ranging across Europe and Asia from forests and steppes to rocky mountains. It is instantly recognizable by its prominent ear tufts, mottled tawny-brown plumage, and huge glowing orange eyes. A formidable nocturnal predator, it takes prey ranging from voles and rabbits to other birds of prey, and its deep, far-carrying 'ooh-hu' call can be heard over long distances. Powerful talons and silent flight make it an apex hunter of the night.
